Neuroscience, motherhood and super productions: this is what the protagonists of ‘Game of Thrones’ do now

On April 17, 2011, a fantastic series called Game of Thrones arrived without making too much noise . Those who were fans of fantasy literature were already familiar with the creation of George RR Martin , but to the general public the Starks and Lannisters were complete strangers. When it ended eight years later on May 19, 2019, it was the biggest television phenomenon to date.

The actors who starred in the HBO fiction have become true idols and, for years, their fans were very aware of their side projects. What has become of them since  DB Weiss and  David Benioff ended the Westeros story? Here we gather what Maisie Williams Lena Headey or  Kit Harington have done in the past few years and what they are doing for the future.

Kit Harington

Kit Harington  and her Jon Snow, who many wanted to see become the King of Westeros, aroused many passions during the broadcast of the series. In fiction he may have been banned, but in real life Harington’s career has only just begun. While giving birth to the bastard, he had roles in films such as Testament of Youth , The Seventh Son or The Death and Life of John F. Donovan . Now that he is freer, he has been able to sign up for another series, Modern Love , where he will participate in an episode – it’s an anthology series.

One of the most important projects for the actor’s future is Eternals , the new Marvel film directed by  Chloé Zhao ( Nomadland ). The study has bet on this group of supernatural beings already indicating that they will be different from anything we know.

Personally, Harington has just become the father of Rose Leslie , the actress who gave birth to Ygritte, Jon’s great love.

Emilia Clarke

The career  Emilia Clarke has grown only when all knew how Khaleesi. Her character may have won more than one enemy, but in real life Clarke has millions of followers.

After the world met her as Daenerys Targaryen, we also saw her as Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genesis , as Lou Clark in the romantic Before You and as Qi’ra in Han Solo: A Star Wars Story . Clarke is not afraid of franchises and long-term deals and is rumored to be on the verge of signing up for Secret Invasion , Marvel’s new Disney + Skrull series.

Maisie Williams

We’ve seen Maisie Williams grow up in front of the  camera and we can’t hide that we’re a little proud of the actress she is today. Arya Stark has won our hearts, but Williams is no exception. He was Ashildr in Doctor Who and has participated in films such as Under a Burning Sun , The Book of Love , When You Appeared or The New Mutants , from the X-Men saga. He also starred in Two Weeks to Live , a comedy about the end of the world that you can enjoy on HBO. He is currently working on Pistol , a miniseries about the Sex Pistols in which she plays the model Pamela Rooke.

Beyond her acting career, she is an entrepreneur. In 2019 it launched the Daisie platform, a network designed for artists and creators. One of the goals during the creation was the collaboration between agents from different sectors, as well as offering a space to show their work.

Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner  rose to fame as a teenager and now no one can deny that she is one of the Hollywood stars. His personal life attracts as much attention as his audiovisual works and any publication of his on social networks has thousands of “likes” guaranteed. In fact, she herself assures that her influence on social networks has given her the strange role.

“Vikings”: the king of Kattegat got married

In any case, Sophie Turner worked on her first feature film in 2013, the mystery film My Other Me – where she still kept Sansa Stark’s redhead. Later, titles like Barely Lethal or Josie would arrive, as well as being Jean Gray in X-Men: Apocalypse and X-Men: Dark Phoenix . In 2020 , Survive premiered , a series planned for the now defunct Quibi platform, the main feature of which were short episodes designed to be viewed on mobile devices.

In her personal life, she enjoys the family she created with Joe Jonas. They both became parents in July 2020, when they welcomed little Willa.

Isaac Hempstead Wright

The career  of Isaac Hempstead Wright is, like his character, more reserved than the rest of her peers. We still find interesting titles, such as his participation in The Boxtrolls by lending his voice to Eggs, the thriller The Curse of Rookford , which he made at the beginning of Game of Thrones, or The Blue Mauritius , an action film that is not still been shooting.

Acting is important to Hempstead Wright, but in 2019 he announced that he would be returning to University College London to finish his neuroscience studies. It is normal that in recent years it has been a bit busy.

Lena Headey

Unlike the Starks,  Lena Headey has become the lousy Cersei Lannister who already had an acting career. He began acting in 1992 and, before signing for HBO, had appeared in The Secret of the Brothers Grimm , 300 or Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles . After becoming the Game of Thrones villain , she continued to expand her career with productions – many action times – such as Dredd , The Purge: Night of the Beasts or Pride + Prejudice + Zombies .She seems to have found a vein as a voice actress, as many of her roles have voiced her in recent years: Tito Yayo , Trollhunters Dark Crystal

He has several projects underway. He is awaiting the release of the thrillers Gunpowder Milkshake and Gypsy Moon . In the meantime, he is preparing other suspense films and is currently working on the animated series New-Gen . Once again lending his voice.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Dane  Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has a long list of films and series in his filmography before coming to Game of Thrones . Like his sister and lover in fiction, he was no young man when he signed to HBO. Thus, we could previously see him in Black Hawk Demolished , The Kingdom of Heaven or New Amsterdam , a series of Fox detectives that we must not confuse with the medical drama released in 2018. Without a doubt, George RR Martin’s adaptation has become a corner his life.

Coster-Waldau continues to be in feature films, mostly action and suspense, and has three in the works. A Danish film about sacrifices in haute cuisine, the story of an expedition in 1909 and a drama about the savage murder of a detective’s wife.
