A British production has been enjoying the admiration of audiences and critics for five years, so much so that it has exceeded the 8.6 points of the acclaimed “Vikings” on IMDb.
With a popularity rating of 8.8 and five seasons available on Netflix, Peaky Blinders tells the story of the Shelby crime family and gangster conflicts in England after WWI.
Set in 1919, the Shelbys experience robbery, extortion and gambling, being known for using razor blades to attack their opponents. However, everything changes with the arrival of a new police chief determined to clear the streets of criminals and revolutionaries.
The production is loosely based on a real-life gang of young people and features big names in the cast, such as Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory and Paul Anderson as Thommy Shelby, Elizabeth “Polly” Gray and Arthur.
“Peaky Blinders” was about to begin filming its sixth season, which ended up being suspended this month due to the coronavirus pandemic that afflicts the world and has already claimed more than 35,000 deaths.
